Schools that use the ACER scholarship test

Find each school your child might apply to, then go to that school's own website. ACER publishes the list, but each school decides who is eligible, so the school's page has the final word on who can sit and when. ACER asks parents to check each school offers a scholarship at your child's level.

You register with ACER separately for each school. Fees aren't on ACER's list, because each school sets its own fee; one application per school.

Close dates are firm: late applications are not accepted. Several close dates fall in January, during the school holidays, so put each one in your calendar as soon as you've chosen your schools.

The program type tells you how a school's test day is set. Most schools on the list either share one ACER date or set their own.

If alternative-date schools on your list test on the same day, ACER says you'll need to choose only one school. Decide early which one matters more.

It covers the states where ACER's page listed schools when we checked it on 3 November 2026: New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory. Families in Queensland or Tasmania should check ACER's participating schools page directly.

Where a school's dates on ACER's list have already passed, or aren't confirmed, we don't show them. The table says the next round's dates aren't listed yet, and we update it when ACER lists them.

Most NSW schools on the list sit on the cooperative date; the rest set their own. Where a row shows the same day for closing and the test, that is how ACER lists it: check the date with the school.

Most Victorian schools on the list set their own date, so check each school's page for when it tests.

Many South Australian schools share the SA cooperative date; some also run their own.

Western Australian schools on the list mostly set their own dates.

Register before each close date, and ask early if your child needs special arrangements: ACER needs the application with evidence 4 weeks before the test.

Then plan the preparation back from the earliest test date.

ACER's secondary tests are Written Expression, Humanities and Mathematics, online or on paper, and ACER scholarship dates has the cooperative calendar.

For a full sitting at home, our ACER practice test runs the Level 1 format. Practice test 1 is free. No card needed.

Does every school use the same test date?

No. Cooperative schools share one ACER date, and each alternative-date school picks its own.

Who decides whether my child gets a scholarship?

The school. For cooperative sittings, ACER sends the results to the schools you applied to, and schools contact parents directly.

Why is a school I know missing?

It may not have been on ACER's list when we checked. If a school isn't here, its own website is the place to find which test it uses. Schools on Edutest's listing are on Edutest scholarship schools.
