Edutest test dates and registration

How to find each school's test date and closing date, and plan your child's practice around them.
Practice test 1 is free. No card needed.
The short answer
There's no shared Edutest date: each school selects its own test date, listed on Edutest's Testing dates page. Most schools share results, so there is usually one sitting in Semester 1 and one in each of Terms 3 and 4.

When is the Edutest test?
It depends on the school: each school selects its own test date. Some schools test early in the year and others later, so the schools on your list may test months apart.
We don't list dates here, because they change school by school and year by year. The school's scholarship page and Edutest's Testing dates page should agree; if they don't, ask the school.
How do you find your school's date?
Check the school's own page first, then Edutest's list. The school tells you who can apply; Edutest shows the date and any special conditions.
Open the school's scholarship or admissions page
It sets out who can apply, any extra requirements, and how to get the Edutest registration link.
Check Edutest's Testing dates page
It lists the schools taking registrations, each with its test date and special conditions.
Write down the closing date as well
Registration closes before the test, at each school's own deadline.
Look for the results-sharing note
A school that doesn't share results says so in its special conditions.
How does registration work?
You need a separate Edutest registration for each school, even when the schools share results. Most schools link to the Edutest registration from their own page; some send the link to families.
On fees, each school sets its own registration fee, and you pay for each school separately. Use the same email address for every registration, so Edutest keeps them under the same parent account.
What if you apply to several schools?
In most cases, no: there is usually one sitting in Semester 1 and one in each of Terms 3 and 4. For schools that share results, Edutest passes them on, so your child sits on the earliest date in each period.
Plan around that earliest date. Results move forward to schools testing later, never back to a school whose test came earlier.
| Your situation | What it means |
|---|---|
| Schools that share results | Your child must sit on the earliest test date in each period; later schools get the results |
| A school that doesn't share | Another sitting may be needed: a small number of schools do not share results |
| Applying again next year | Children are tested at their current year level, so results can't be carried into the next calendar year |
What happens after the test date?
Edutest marks the tests, and results go to schools, not to parents. If you get a report, it comes from the school.
Each school's selection can take 3 to 8 weeks after the test, sometimes longer. If you haven't heard by then, contact the school.
How should the dates shape preparation?
Work back from the earliest test date on your list. Sit a full Practice test a term or so before, so there's time to work on what it shows, then another closer to the day to check progress.
Afterwards you'll see results by skill, so you know which test to spend the weeks on. The how to prepare page has a plan, and the Edutest practice tests follow Edutest's sections and times.
See where your child stands
Practice test 1 marks every answer and shows results by skill: what your child already does well and the three skills to work on next.
