SelectiveReady Terms of Service
SelectiveReady is operated by Varun Prasad Gopisetti (ABN 53 930 169 401) at selectiveready.com. Contact support@selectiveready.com.
1. Your account
The account holder must be at least 18, live in Australia and be the parent or legal guardian of the student using the account. You manage purchases and supervise the student's use. One account supports one student; there are no separate parent and student accounts. Do not share access outside your household or use it to provide a commercial coaching service.
At onboarding we ask you to accept these terms and consent to the handling of your child's information described in our Privacy Policy. Marketing email is a separate, optional choice. Our Refund and Cancellation Policy forms part of these terms.
2. What we provide
SelectiveReady provides practice for students in Years 4–6 preparing for the NSW Selective High School Placement Test: Reading, Mathematical Reasoning, Thinking Skills and Writing. Features include practice questions, timed practice, video lessons and progress information. Students can draft and save writing responses; automated writing feedback is currently unavailable while provider eligibility is unresolved. Any feedback saved earlier remains in the account history. Your purchase screen states the included features and limits.
SelectiveReady is independent and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the NSW Department of Education, Cambridge University Press & Assessment, Janison, ACER or any school. Our materials are preparation materials, not official test papers. We do not guarantee a test score, placement offer or school outcome. Official arrangements can change; check the Department's information.
3. Prices, access and cancellation
Prices are in Australian dollars. There is no free tier or free trial. Creating an account lets you view labelled previews and manage your account; paid practice and lessons require access from a purchase. Billing, cancellation, Settings, privacy and contact remain available when paid access ends or is on hold. Existing progress is kept subject to our Privacy Policy.
Weekly Plan — A$9 every 7 days. This subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You authorise recurring charges through Stripe. There is no minimum term or cancellation fee. Cancel in Billing or the payment portal; cancellation stops future renewals and you keep access until the end of your paid week. We confirm the cancellation and end time. Contact support if you cannot use those controls. We send a subscription reminder at least every six months.
12-Month Pack — A$99 once. This purchase does not renew. Access lasts 12 calendar months from the confirmed purchase time, or extends an existing active pack by 12 calendar months from its current end time. Dates use Australia/Sydney time and the last day of the target month if the original day does not exist. The purchase screen shows the applicable end date and time; your account and confirmation record the final end time. We send a reminder 14 days before expiry. Expiry does not cause another charge.
Switching. You can buy a pack while on the Weekly Plan. Once pack payment is confirmed, we stop weekly renewal. The unused part of the paid week is not credited or refunded for change of mind; the pack begins at confirmed purchase. You cannot start a Weekly Plan while an active pack covers you. Buying another pack extends the existing pack.
A return from Checkout alone is not payment or access confirmation. If confirmation is pending, check Billing and contact support if needed; do not pay again to resolve an uncertain payment. If renewal payment fails, we notify you and show how to update your payment method and any access deadline. If payment remains unsuccessful, paid use stops at that deadline. Payment failure alone does not delete your account or progress.
We give at least 30 days' email notice before increasing the weekly renewal price. You can cancel before the first renewal at the new price. Pack price changes apply only to new purchases. Changes do not alter the amount or period already bought. Promotions, if any, apply only on their stated conditions.
4. Refunds and consumer rights
We do not offer change-of-mind refunds or goodwill credits for unused time. This does not affect rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other rights that cannot be excluded.
For a major failure in a service, you may cancel the contract and receive an appropriate refund, allowing for services already properly provided, or keep the contract and seek compensation for the reduction in value. You may also be entitled to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. For other failures, we must fix the problem within a reasonable time; further remedies apply if we cannot or do not do so. Our Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how to make a claim.
5. Appropriate use and disputes
Keep your sign-in method secure. Do not bypass access controls, interfere with security, resell access, or copy or redistribute our materials without permission except where law permits. Do not submit unlawful content or other people's private information.
We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security risks or a payment dispute. We explain the reason and how to contact us unless that would create a security risk or be unlawful. For a remediable breach, we give a reasonable opportunity to fix it before closure. Restrictions do not remove statutory rights.
During a payment dispute, paid use may be on hold. Billing, cancellation, privacy and support remain available. We may give Stripe and relevant payment institutions factual purchase, consent, payment, notice and relevant usage records. We do not include student essays as routine dispute evidence. Contacting us first is helpful but not a condition of exercising rights with a bank or regulator.
6. Content and privacy
Materials belong to us or their respective rights holders. Your purchase gives you a personal licence to use included materials through the service during your access period. The student retains any rights they have in their writing. You permit us to store and process submissions and show the work in your account for the purposes in our Privacy Policy. This does not transfer ownership or authorise advertising use or publication.
7. Changes, interruptions and closure
Maintenance and faults can interrupt the service. We address problems consistently with your consumer rights. We do not promise an automatic outage-credit scheme.
We may improve features but cannot use these terms to remove rights or benefits already bought. We give at least 30 days' notice of changes that materially disadvantage you. Recorded terms and offer versions continue to govern each purchase. If a promised benefit cannot be supplied, we provide the required remedy; cancelling renewal does not replace a remedy for prepaid access.
If we permanently close, we give at least 30 days' notice where practicable and refund unused prepaid access, without limiting additional statutory remedies.
8. Ending your account
You can cancel weekly renewal without closing the account. To close the account, email privacy@selectiveready.com from your account email. We verify the request, stop recurring billing and marketing, and remove account access as described in the Privacy Policy. Account closure does not create a change-of-mind refund entitlement or remove a statutory refund right. Necessary financial, complaint and agreement evidence may remain as explained in the Privacy Policy.
9. General
New South Wales law governs these terms without excluding mandatory protections or lawful complaint or court options. Nothing here excludes consumer guarantees or limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited. If a term is unenforceable, the other terms continue to the extent they lawfully can. Our Contact page explains complaints and external help.
